Whale sighting in Wiesbaden

In honour of the American painter and object artist Frank Stella, who is being awarded the Jawlsensky Prize by the city of Wiesbaden this year, the Museum Reinhard Ernst (mre) has commissioned us to create a teaser for his Moby Dick cycle.

The Museum Reinhard Ernst itself owns several of the large-format works from the cycle, one of which it loaned to the Museum Wiesbaden for the award ceremony. Oliver Kornhoff, director of the Museum Reinhard Ernst, is pleased: »All the more so that we now have a cinematic reminiscence of the common initial idea with the stirring moving images (…) The film is not only a bow to Frank Stella.« We are also looking forward, especially to further sightings of the White Whale at the opening of the mre in spring 2023.
